Birthday Time!!

At work we had 2 Birthdays.. I made a couple cards for our little shindig... I made this one for BJ... she turned... well... she turned another year older (for the record still don't believe she is as old as she says she is) I made her this card from me.. basic 4in x 5.5in with a black layer being 3in x 4.5in and the teal and if you can see its texture which i thought was a cool look for the dress (same as dress color) 2.5in x 4in I cut "model9" from "forever young" cartridge at 5 in I did the under lay in purple but the top in teal along with head band and bracelet, since i didn't have the purple i used in the dress i had to use the teal so I did the silhouette in the same color as the card so she would pop more. i found this saying "Like many women my age...." and on the inside i wrote  "I am 29 years old" the next card i did was for Mrs Juddie one of our volunteers I made her the Mushroom card... same dimensions except only the first layer and then i put this new ribbon I found in the dollar bin at target :) I then did a mushroom from "Simply Charmed" at 3 in and that was basically it, the picture is not the best color wise but  it was fun to do :) The bottom Cupcake  card was to BJ from the entire department we all signed it,  it was the same size card with the 2 layers each decreasing in 1/2 inch the cupcake was from simply charmed cut at 2.5 inches in the same colors the purple being textured if you can see on here and another piece of matching ribbon from Target! It went good though brought in some food and had a good time which is all that matters.

over a month!

Oh Lordy, it has been over a month since i posted i honestly can not believe it, things haven't slowed down for me at all :( but I have cricut-ed... If noticed I also changed the name of my blog... i love the idea of doing the challenge but who are we kidding... I am to busy and get distracted to easily for that to work :( so I am just going to post projects as i do them.. i am branching out to more things, I have the cutest clothes i want to make... some for my cute little niece (Left) is she the cutest niece ever! (can you tell she is my first :) and even some ideas for my little sister  (Below )

Any who i have done several cards.. rearranged my craft room umpteenth times and am finally gonna slow down to play! lol So if y'all will just bare with me my face book page will be updated to this as well soon and i am going to continue to post the tips i learn along the way.. and things like i mess up so you don't have to lol, I'm also running low on the general supplies cough**tape gun... refills**cough, just in case you wanted to know(see list on side) lol... i am also in the process of getting a few more boyish cartridges I went to make a few a while back and realized that my cartridges are not very generic.. kinda lean more towards girly. Any ways I hope y'all have had a very enjoyable Easter and month of April! i missed talking to you guys.. and cant wait to get started :)

Wedding Fever!!

I finally got the wedding cards together, I want lie I slacked off a bit on them, but there really was a ton of pieces to them... there are two girls I work with that are both getting married in the very near future. And the first one i did was Melissa, she said her colors were pool blue, cream and black, and so i did a bride and groom  Which i cut at 3 inches and from the "Simply Charmed" cartridge, and she is holding blue and black flowers and then i but then on a black base card of 4''x5.5'' I then did a blue layer of 3.5''x5'' and pop-dotted the bride and groom, i then used the same button to cut "the happy couple" which i then pot "the" on the front and some dots from previous projects and in the inside i cut a cream colored paper at 5.25''x 4 (so as you could see what was wrote) and then attached "happy couple" inside the card. If you noticed both of the writing is in the blue however the back ground varies, for front i did cream so as to pop a little more and vise versa for inside where i used black to contrast.

 For Mitzi,who is getting married this weekend, Her colors were dark purple and a lavender. So for her card i used the wedding cake with out the berries from "Simply charmed" at first i cut it at 3 inches but being how skinny it was made it real short. So i cut it at 4 inches in a lavender and cut the decorations in a deep purple. for this one i did not do layer 1, I did not want a face on my cake, so i had to do a partial cut again of the purple which i then cut down to put the spiral  on the top layer, I cut the base out of the back of a valentines paper scrap that was silver metallic. I cut the card at 4''x5.5'' and then the second layer was fun I cut a white piece to 3.5''x5 and used a lavender stamp pad and brushed the piece so it had a hint of lavender (ink pad was a cheap little one so didn't work great you see it better in contrast to a white piece or up close) i then did another dark purple layer at 3''x 4.5'' I then put a smaller lavender piece inside (forgot picture sorry) and it was 3''x 4'' which i wrote message, and then i cut a cake at 1.25 in in lavender used a black sharpie to color base and a fine tip pen in purple to draw designs on the cake which i then glued to inside left bottom middle.

Well I also made a giraffe card this weekend i am not crazy about it will post a picture in a bit, i love the way the giraffe turned out i used the scrap where i cut the giraffe out for the card last week, and took a paint brush and brown ink pad  and brushed the stencil and then took a brown fine tip pen and colored in the accents and also the plant with green and pink and then i didn't like where it went from there... lol ill have to try it again and see what i get lol

Happy Hump Day!!!

So This week really needed HUMP DAY! I feel like it was never going to end, yet also going by so fast, oh how weird is that? But any who i got a little creative yesterday, and did these two as well as a project i started, but has a lot of little peices, so definatley a 2 day project... work on it later today!

 So yesterday i was trying to figure out what to do thought well i wanna do a boy card, I always do girly ones,  so i used the Simply Charmed cartridge and cut the frog at 2.5 inches  and cut in green with yellow crown and light blue belly (matched stripes) I cut traditional card t 4x 5.5, and second layer of sriped glitter paper at 3.5x 5 and then an color cordinating orange at 3.5x3 and used my scalloped border punch to  cut one side and layered it on the stripes, not sure what to right think im going to wait for the occasion to decide. Secondly i did something really kind of challenging but so fun and now have some orders for them :) cant wait :)

These were cool i had some white book marks i bought years ago.... and cut the pencil and paper from from "Simply Charmed" at 1.5 inches and  wrote "Back To School" and tied a pink ribbon in a whole i ponch with a generic hole punch... i did usea blue fine tip and pink fine tip pen to trace lines they were punched but as small as they were  you couldnt see them. Well tell me what you think!

Card Crazy Saturday!!

I made several cards Saturday.. I made a dragonfly card I used the basic card size 4x5.5  with a pink floral piece 3.25x4.75 with a solid pink layer 2.25x3.75 with the dragonfly cut at 3.5 inches the middle hearts, are the same pink and I stamped them in red fo the inside of the card i used the dragonfly in a circle cut at 1.5 inches and staped it in red as well putting only the little dragonfly in the middle bottom.

I then made a giraffe card... same card size  4x5.5 (pink) dark brown cardboard like  at 3.5x5 and a light yellow  at 3x4.5,I then cut the Giraffe at 1.5 inches using the same yellow an thin light brown cardboard, with the dark cardboard (same as (2nd layer)  i then used a paint brush and brown ink pad and brused the yellow parts. I then used the same pink to cut "Just be you" at one inch.

I then cut 2 more cards, they are both tri-fold tab cards:

This one is pretty simple I cut it at 1.5 inches in light pink used a dark brown for the oval and light brown backing.



This one i cut at 4 inches, in bright blue circle in hot pink, and backing in lime green, super simple, super cute, gonna be great for bulk cards needed :)

Get Well soon!

I made this card for a lady I work with this morning, she has not been doing to well lately, and always comments on my cards and bulletin board so i thought what better way that with a card...

This card was fairley simple I used the basic card size in lime green 4x5.5 and then the pink layer (same as shell) 3.5x5 and then the next one Blue (same as trim on shell) cut at  3x4.5 then used my scalloped  border punch and punched around the whole blue. I  then used the paisley cartridge to cut the <turtle> at 2.5 inches pop dotted it on the  lower middle and wrote "Feel better soon!" in a fine blue ink. well hopefully ill make more this afternoon, going to do a projet with my sister for school, so we will see. :)

Card frenzy...

I made these 3 cards last night on a card frenzy!  I cut the base or card at my normal size and then the blue layer is 3.5x5 with a strip of brown 2x3.5 i cut the shirt from "Simply Charmed" I cut <shirtTie> at 3.5 inches and used the same red and blue  for tie as for card, I then cut the words from same button at 1.5 inches.

This next card is a cute simple card I use the same card size with next green layer (which matches the green glare on Popsicle) at 3.5x5 and the light purple at 2.5x4 and then using the same cartridge and cut <popscl2> at 3.5 in (without the smile face) and using a fine tip, lime green marker I wrote the word Sweet!



This card was so much fun! lol only thing i would do different is cut my owl smaller, I cut the card the same and the next layer at (green) 3.5x3 and the yellow was 3.5x2.5  and i scalloped the yellow that over lapped the green, ant see here i then cut the owl  from the "Paisley" Cartridge <Owl1> at 4 in (next time ill do 3.5 inches. following colors in book actually lol, and then cut the "Woot" from same cartridge but using the word from <owl2> cut at 1 inch  let me know what you think.

Last night

So last night Me and my honey went to dinner with my Daddy  at Apple Bees :) and then when i got home I did some cricut-ing :D I made two cards, one being the "Shroomy" card (left) I love the way this card turned out. I used the "SimplyCharmed" Cartridge and cut the <Mshrm2> at 3.5'' but left out layer 1 (I dont want a smiley face on it) I then cut the same green at 8'' by 5.5'' (so card being 4''x5.5'') I then cut the same brown i used for stup at 3.5'' x 5'' and then the same pink at 3''x 4.5 and then the green at 2.5'' x 4'' I then used popdots to mount the Mushroom cockeyed in the top left corner and then using my fine tip markers I wrote "Feelin Shroomy" Didnt this one turn out super cute? The next one (below) I did was this Birthday card its generic not for any one purpose just to have on hand for a time in need I used the same cartridge (can you tell which one is my favorite!) I cut the <BdayCake> at 3.5'' using a glitter page from my favorite stack as the base and layed with coordinating purple, blue and greenI then cut the card the same as above in the same deep purple 8''x 5.5''(folded to 4'' x 5.5'')  then cut the same glitter page at 3.5'' x 5'' and then cut a matching pink at 2.5'' x 4'' I then used pop dotts  to mount it a little high and wrote "Happy Cake-Day" Let me know what you think?

 

Funny story

So I don't have a card for you today i did everything but cricut yesterday, but I wanted to leave you with a tip!

"Apply adhesive to the glitter side when layering  pages"

On the Card I did for my Sister in law I layered the pink on  the brown Glitter page and it kept coming off i finally figured it out and was so excited! I gave it to her Saturday Night at my Aunt Nita's Birthday Party since hers is this Friday (3/12)  and I had glued the cup cake on BACKWARDS! I could not believe it, we both stood there trying to figure out how to open the card before it dawned on me :( ERG! any who i thought I would slip you in on a little funny from my weekend! cant wait to get home and cricut tonight!! Will post maybe tonight but defiantly tomorrow!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT NITA!!

This has to be one of my favorite pictures i have picnik-ed!!  (Below) I made a litle spring card its base is purple 5''x6''  next layer is pink 4.5''x5.5'' and I cut the tree from "Simply Charmed"  <Tree1> at 3.5'' and then but a ribbon strip, I then stamped "Spring is here" in black

This next card was fun to make I cut the blue at 4''x5.5'' and the next layer is an egg patterned paper i gotyears ago cut to 3.5''x5'' than another blue cut 2.5''x4'' i then took brown ink pad and scuffed edges, using the same cartridge as before cut <Bunny> at 2.5'' and stamped the brown ink pad lightly just to ruff up, and put then i did it on the edges like paper layers, I then stamped "Here comes the Easter Bunny" in brown, I then (lower right) used same technique on a the same type of bunny cut at 1.5''

And here is my aunt Nitas card! (We call her Needer) She had her 40th Birthday Party today but she doesnt look a day over 29 (now im her favorite niece)

Fridays post... sorry its late

So  Friday i was busy and did not get around to posting but...I did some really simple task, first i cut letters and did my two aunts envelopes, not to hard lol,  and below is the two cards i made both from "Simply Charmed" the first one i cut the <ChickEgg> at 3 in and the words (from the same key) "just hatched" at 1.5''.  For the back layer of the egg i used the same paper as the shadow for the words one of the glitter papers from my DCWV stack, then the top layer of white. The base of the card is the 4''x 5.5'' and the second layer is 3''x4.5'' and i used pop dots for the egg and words, the other card was harder than i thought. I cut this card at 5''x5'' and the big doll is <NstDoll2>  at 2in and the 2 little ones I used <NstDoll1> i used a pokadot page from Colorbok, the butterfly collection i then used a light blue to match and the card base the same with the next layer the same pokadot cut at 4.5''x4.5'' then a lime green to tie in the accents on dolls cut at 4''x4'' then i cut the "Happy Mothers Day" on the same button at 2 inches... so that was yesterdays i will try and post the stuff Ive done today.. when I get home, I have to go to My Aunt Needers Surprise Birthday Party!!

Birthday envelopes

I did a little last night i went to make My sister-in-laws Birthday card last night with her camo I couldn't get the pink to look right (The only camo that i found was not really what i was looking for) so i used a glitter paper from DCWV papers, that was browns and pinks and here is her card did the cupcake at 3.5 inches i will put a better picture up, i always take with my phone because its convenient and every time i took a picture of this card it got a blue tint but the envelope doesn't, so i will put better pictures of it up hopefully when i get home today. to the top right is the middle I put a pink square 5'' x 3'' and wrote on it and the envelope i cut a small cupcake at 1.25 in the same glitter paper and wrote on the pink square and pop-dotted the cupcake, closeup in bottom left.

 SO here is the finished project... (right) I added the pot of gold and the phrase (below)  and i cut letters for my two aunts birthdays  to put on there envelopes, and tonight the plan is to make a card for my sister in-law birthday coming up, and she is redneck as redneck comes, more so than me lol so i am going to have fun with that, cant wait to show you!! so keep a look out for that tomorrow :)

My crazy weekend :)

Well i had long, but very exciting weekend, so needless to say much cricut-ing did not get done, Friday night Me and Chris and Blake and MyLissa went to "Country Fried Fridays" At Wild Wings in Asheville and saw Jeff Bates play, then came back to the house for some good old fashioned XBOX (LOL) and some of my new addiction "The Secret Life of American Teenagers." Then Saturday I cleaned house and did some serious laundry, and the re arranged my craft room a little, there used to be just this... and a box and a soccer ball bean bag in the corner lol, Now they are both lined upp on the left wall there is a full size bed a "Husband's chest" with TV  and the a dresser with double mirrors on opposite next to wall, I also finally emptied my trash box lol, but after that i sat down and made 2 leprechauns from my "Simply Charmed cartridge" and a pot of Gold with a rainbow I am going to cut the words "Happy St. Paddy's Day" and something else or another phrase to go  in bottom left not sure will see what me and my cricut get in to :) Then After all this we were like what are we gonna do tonight.. well we decide to grab MyLissa an Blake and went to Gatlinburg for the night... decided to stay the night had a blast, had a little to much fun :) but hey you only live once :) So ill have to take  new picture and "picnik" it so you see my new craft room  but here is my board (below)  with a light yellow backing and the cutest "St Paddy's Day" garland with my info for work Ill show you when I complete it.

Berry Sweet

 So I made this card last night just a quick little card with  summer like theme...  i love the bowl of strawberries thought it was so cute. the card is white 5.5''x 4'' the next layer is red 5''x 3.5''  and the third  layer is 4.5''x 3'' i cut the strawberries from  "Simply Charmed" <strwbrrybwl> at 3in and then the words at one inch.  it cme with an extra strawberry that was suppossed to be layered in the bowl... and i put it in the inside bottom. I think it turned out cute and would be a very cute thank you card.
